Pļavnieki is a neighbourhood in Riga's Latgale Suburb, located in the eastern part of the city, approximately 8 km from the centre. The district borders Purvciems, Dārzciems, and Dreiliņi, forming a large urban zone on Riga's eastern side with good connectivity.

While Pļavnieki is primarily a residential area, significant industrial and logistics zones are located nearby. The district's eastern boundary meets the Dreiliņi and Rumbula logistics territories, home to several Class A warehouse parks.

Pļavnieki's large population makes it an important labour pool for logistics and manufacturing companies operating in Riga's eastern industrial zone. The commercial centre along Saharova iela offers extensive service infrastructure — supermarkets, banks, and office spaces.
